Sean Paul is returning to the Cayman Islands for a third time to perform at the Kaaboo festival.
Kaaboo is billed as the music festival created by music lovers for music lovers, but the two-day event is also jam-packed with comedy, arts, craft, cuisine and so much more!
Given that the anticipated extravaganza is right around the corner, on February 15 and 16, Loop News is sharing 10 facts you might not have known about Sean Paul, one of the special performers. (Or maybe you're as much of a superfan as us, and you know all this already!)
Sean Paul has performed in the Cayman Islands twice before.
His real name is Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques
The Jamaican star and his wife, Jodi ‘ Jinx’ Henrique welcomed their first child in 2017.
He worked as chef and bank teller before launching a career in music.
Sean Paul had a cameo in the 1998 movie ‘Belly’ which featured DMX.
He is an avid swimmer and played on the Jamaican national water polo team from ages 13-21.
His album Dutty Rock won a Grammy award.
The video of “Give It Up to Me” (featuring Keyshia Cole) was also featured in the movie Step Up in 2006.
Some of his biggest hits included “Get Busy”, “Like Glue”, “Gimme the Light”, “Baby Boy”, and “I’m Still in Love with You” from his Dutty Rock Album.
He often performs to raise money for his local children’s hospital.
