2017 Occupational Wage Surveys to begin

The 2017 Occupational Wage Survey (OWS) is slated to begin on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. The survey aims to aid the Ministry of Human Resources in establishing a comprehensive human resource (HR) baseline database. The survey will be administered to all public and private sector employers.

The OWS will collect data regarding employment and compensation for occupations throughout the Cayman Islands. The survey is also expected to capture data reflecting employee qualifications, immigration status, skills, number of hours worked, and types of employment.

Businesses are reminded that the OWS is confidential and they will not be asked to submit their business name or names of employees. The data will be made available as an aggregate to users including the Ministry of Human Resources, private sector companies and HR associations who the data may be convenient to for compensation reviews.

Modes of completing the survey include filling out paper forms, electronically by downloading the forms from the ESO's website, or by an interview with a  trained ESO survey staff member.

The survey is excepted to last until December 29, 2017.

Those seeking more information regarding the survey may contact the ESO.
