Caricom: Working group meets again on coronavirus
A CARICOM working group that was established to formulate recommendations and protocols for a possible response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) will report back to a meeting of CARICOM’s Council for Human and Social Development (COHSOD-Health).
The meeting reconvenes later today February 28, as a follow up to the CARICOM Ministers of Health emergency meeting on COVID-19.
CARICOM Chairman, Barbados Prime Minister, Mia Mottley in proposing the establishment of the working group, urged that it recommend a possible course of action for regional governments to consider.
The working group was also mandated to hold a meeting on February 27 with representatives of the CARICOM Secretariat, the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), CARICOM’s Implementation Agency for Crime and Security (IMPACS), the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA), the Pan American Health Organisation (PAHO) and the Ministers of Health from Grenada and Jamaica.
