Cayman: 3 positive tests; 199 COVID-19 cases total

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, reports 623 COVID-19 tests carried out since Friday’s press conference.  Three were positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease, and the people were identified through the screening programme and are not symptomatic.  Two of these are returning travellers and one is presumed to have acquired the condition locally.

Of the 199 positive cases, 189 have fully recovered and 9 are considered to still have the virus, with one death. There are no symptomatic persons in Cayman.

23,280 people have been tested to date. The positive testing rate is now down to 0.85 per cent.
