Cayman: 9-year-old child has tested positive for COVID-19

There has been one more positive COVID-19 diagnosis in the Cayman Islands today, out of a total 59 results returned since yesterday.

The latest positive case is a nine-year-old girl, who was confirmed yesterday (MONDAY). She presented to doctors with symptoms.

Chief Medical Officer Dr John Lee said this was a "sobering reminder" for everyone that coronavirus is still here.

This brings the total positives to 151. The total number of people tested is 12,003.

These positives were all found through the screening programme.

The status of positive cases is as follows:

  • 1 has some symptoms.
  • 72 are asymptomatic.
  • 77 have fully recovered
  • 59 persons in government isolation facilities
  • 270 in self-isolation

There has been one death.
