Cayman Airways resumes service to Florida airports

Cayman Airways late Monday night announced that it had resumed flights to and from Miami, Tampa, and Kingston.

The national carrier’s announcement came airports across Florida reopened on Tuesday.

Miami, the state's busiest airport, resumed service at 7:06 a.m.  On Tuesday; with an arriving American Airlines flight arriving from Seattle.

The airports in the state have reported “only mild damage” from the storm.

Flights KX102, KX103, KX106 and KX107 between Grand Cayman and Miami on Tuesday will be operated with CAL's larger 737-800 aircraft to accommodate additional passengers affected by the airport closure as a result of Hurricane Irma.

The previously scheduled recovery flights for Tampa, KX3200 and KX3201 will operate as scheduled said the airline in a release.
