Cayman found to be a top spring break destination

According to research from Allianz Global Assistance, the number of Americans travelling domestically for spring break increased 24 per cent over the past year, with an 18 per cent increase in international getaways.

The week-long holiday, which typically takes please during the first week in March has come to be known as synonymous with "fun in the sun." Allianz’s Top 10 Spring Break Destinations survey analyzed more than 2.7 million flight itineraries to see where everyone would be having this fun.

Here are the top international destinations that Allianz Global Assistance says that American students are going to this year:

Cancun (4th year in a row)

San Jose

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico 

Nassau, Bahamas

Montego Bay, Jamaica 


Providenciales, Turks and Caicos


Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
