Man hit with ganja consumption, other charges following fight

A 41-year-old George Town man has been slapped with a charge of causing grievous bodily harm following an altercation late last month.

He has also been charged with consumption of ganja and refusal to provide a sample of urine.

The charges stem from an incident on Saturday, June 27, during which a man was assaulted by another man known to him. The victim was reportedly admitted to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries following the altercation. He remains in hospital in stable condition.

Police say the accused remains in custody and will appear in court tomorrow, July 14.
