Cayman: Tropical wave will cause showers and thunder today
The Cayman National Weather Service says that there is a tropical wave making its way across the Western Caribbean which is expected to produce scattered showers and thunder across the Cayman area for the next 24 hours. Radar images show scattered showers in and around the Cayman area which are moving towards the southwest.
Today there are expected to be cloudy skies with a 60 per cent chance of showers and some thunder especially over the Sister Islands. Showers may become locally heavy at times.
Temperatures will rise to the upper 80’s °F. Winds will be east to southeast 10 to 15 knots. Seas will be moderate with wave heights of 3 to 5 feet.
Tonight there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a 60 per cent chance of showers and some thunder. Temperatures will fall to the mid 70’s °F. Winds will be east to southeast 10 to 15 knots. Seas will be moderate with wave heights of 3 to 5 feet.
The outlook through Tuesday evening is for continued cloudiness with scattered showers as an inverted trough develops and lingers over the western Caribbean.
