Cayman Weather: Showers possible

Light wind and slight seas are expected over the Cayman area for the next 24 hours in association with a weak pressure gradient across the Caribbean. Surface charts also indicate that a weak cold front nearing northwestern Cuba will move into our area this afternoon and will support and increase in cloudiness and shower activity through tomorrow. Radar images at 6 am showed scattered showers 75 miles north of Grand Cayman area which are moving towards the south.

THE FORECAST:

Today: Mainly fair this morning becoming cloudy by this afternoon with a 40% chance of showers. Temperatures will rise to the low 80’s °F. Winds will north to northeast at 5 to 10 knots. Seas will be slight with wave heights of 1 to 3 feet.

Tonight: Cloudy skies with a 30% chance of showers f. Temperatures will fall to the low 70’s °F. Winds will northeast at 10 to 15 knots with higher gust. Seas will be slight to moderate with wave heights of 2 to 4 feet.
