The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA), which owns and operates the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) and the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA), has announced the opening of a children’s play area in the departures hall at ORIA.

The new children’s play area, which opened on Monday, provides a unique passenger amenity to help keep the travelling children entertained in a safe environment prior to boarding their flight.

The CIAA teamed up with Clear Channel Airports and Century 21 Thompson Realty to make this exciting new venture a reality. Featuring an underwater theme to excite a child’s imagination and wonder, the children’s play area comes fully equipped with rockers, puzzles, slides and seesaws for children ages 4-12 to enjoy.

The children’s play area at Owen Roberts International Airport is located in the departures hall, near Gates 8 and 9. Additionally, a Mamava privacy suite, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman, is located next to the children’s play area to allow for nursing mothers to breastfeed in the privacy of a self-contained, mobile pod.

“We have brought a level of excellence to our passengers’ experience, but our transformation of the new terminal does not stop there as every day we are working together to improve and enhance the services and amenities we provide to our travelling public,” said Albert Anderson, CEO of the Cayman Islands Airports Authority.
