It seems that for the past ten years, Chukka Caribbean Adventures, Jamaica’s largest tour operator has been trying to expand to Grand Cayman.
With multiple locations in Jamaica and operations in Turks & Caicos, Belize and most recently, the Dominican Republic (since December 10), the tour provider is said to be negotiating deals in both Grand Cayman and Barbados as part of its expansion plans.
Sources say that the Barbados deal will involve management of the operations of local attraction, Harrison’s Cave and in Cayman, the tour operator is said to be interested in purchasing a local water sports provider. This has not yet been officially confirmed.
Chukka Caribbean Adventures is said to be financing these projects with a combination of debt and equity in the amount of US$50 million.
