The Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) has donated the proceeds of its annual charity walk to the literacy and numeracy programmes of various local government primary schools and learning institutions.
CIMA's third annual 5K & 10K Charity Walk/Run raised a total of CI$22,896 which surpassed the previous year’s proceeds. The funds were allocated to programmes at Red Bay Primary, Cayman Islands Behaviour Support Services, Bodden Town Primary, George Town Primary, Edna Moyle Primary, Prospect Primary, East End Primary, Savannah Primary and Sir John A Cumber.
CIMA’s Managing Director Mrs. Cindy Scotland said, “The Authority takes great pride in being able to host this event for a third consecutive year. Supporting our government schools in their literacy and numeracy programmes will go a long way in ensuring our children’s development. I am extremely pleased to see that the community has chosen to support this worthy cause and I look forward to their continued participation.”
