Cyclist injured in hit-and-run
A cyclist was lucky to escape with minor injuries when he was involved in a hit-and-run.
Just before 10:15pm last night (May 7), police and other emergency services were dispatched to a location on Shedden Road, where it was reported that a man had been hit by a white Honda two-door car.
The cyclist was travelling on Shedden Road near Mary Street in the westbound lane, when he was struck by the vehicle traveling behind him. The car, possibly a Prelude model, left the location and continued west.
The cyclist had visible injuries to his arms and legs and attended hospital on his own. He was later discharged with what is believed to be non-life-threatening-injuries.
Police are asking for the assistance of the public in locating the vehicle and driver involved in this incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
