Diddy on Kim Porter: We were more than soulmates
Sean 'Diddy' Combs has broken his social media silence on the death of his ex-girlfriend Kim Porter.
In a series of posts over the weekend, a clearly distraught Diddy struggled to come to terms with Porter’s death.
Porter, mother of three of Diddy’s children, son Christian and twin daughters D’Lila Star and Jessie James, died on Friday of a suspected cardiac arrest.
The cause of death is yet to be confirmed.
“For the last three days, I’ve been trying to wake up out of this nightmare. But I haven’t. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you baby. I miss you so much. Today I’m going to pay tribute to you, I’m going to try and find the words to explain our unexplainable relationship. We were more than best friends, we were more than soulmates. WE WERE SOME OTHER SHIT!! And I miss you so much. Super Black Love 🖤,” he posted to his Instagram account on Sunday along with a video interview with Essence magazine which they did when she was pregnant.
In the latest post, he promised Porter to take care of their family.
“I’ll raise our family just like you taught me to. Love you forever!!!! 🖤 I CANT BELIEVE THIS SHIT!!!!!!”
Also posting to IG was Porter’s eldest son, Quincy, who she had with former R&B singer Al B Sure.
“I am broken...& the only thing that makes sense right now is that you were way too good for this silly world we live in. I love you so much MOMMY. Please give Mee-Maw the biggest hug and kiss for me,” he wrote.
Porter’s death has sent shockwaves through Hollywood and the music community with several celebrities sending tributes on social media.
Rapper Busta Rhymes wrote: “There are no words that can describe this pain of losing you Kim. You were truly a big sister to me as we were in recent conversations about you helping me get my daughter Cacie into modelling with your guidance, love, protection and resources. @Diddy there are no words that can comfort you and your beautiful children enough right now but just know that I am here regardless of whom or what. Prayers up.”
“R.I.P to Kim Porter, I send my condolences to her friends and family. She was loved and will be missed dearly. I know puff is hit right now he loved her for real, soul mate type shit. Chin up puff, Positive vibes only,” wrote 50 Cent.
