Unruly! John Gray students arrested
Three students were taken into police custody following two separate incidents, which happened last week at the George Town based John Gray High School.
While it remains unclear whether charges have been laid, what transpired at the educational institution shows a breakdown in order at the usually quiet school.
Loop News understands that there was a fight on Thursday that occurred between a male year 11 student at the high school and a learning mentor- a person responsible for providing guidance and support to students.
The student was subsequently arrested.
However, the disorder continued in the days following the fight, as a female student, also in year 11, who had recorded the altercation, began sharing the video.
The student was confronted by the principal on Friday (February 9), who we are told by sources, attempted to confiscate the cell-phone, however he was slapped by the student in the face.
It is understood that the student who slapped the principal has also been arrested, and may also face disciplinary action.
Loop News reached out the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) who noted that they would make further checks before confirming whether charges were laid on the students.
