Education & Health officials working together to protect Cayman

The Ministry of Education, Youth Sports, Agriculture and Lands (MEYSAL) in consultation with the Health Services Authority (HSA) have issued coronavirus response procedures. Both government and private schools have received advisories as per the procedures. Parents and guardians have also been advised of the above information.

The Ministry of Education is working closely with the Ministry of Health’s Chief Medical Officer, Hazard Management Cayman Islands, the Department of Education Services and school leaders to ensure proactive measures are in place. This includes keeping all schools, parents, and guardians well informed with up-to-date advisories while the respective authorities continue their preparedness to protect the Islands against COVID-19.

MEYSAL Chief Officer Cetonya Cacho concurred, “We fully realise that this is not just about government schools; this is about the well-being of all our nation’s students. I want to encourage everyone to remain vigilant by keeping informed and following the advice and recommendations of our local authorities.”

MEYSAL has committed to keeping schools, parents, and guardians and the wider public informed of further developments as they arise.
