Family Resource Centre celebrates Peace Day with Facebook challenge

In recognition of International Peace Day, The Family Resource Centre (FRC) has invited the public to partake in their social media campaign.

This year’s theme is, “Together for Peace: Respect, Safety and Dignity for All”.

The FRC on Thursday invited Caymanians to take part in their Facebook challenge, by posting comments and pictures of themselves and others in the community carrying out random act of kindness.

In sharing good will gestures, Caymanians are reminded to use the hashtag, #peacedaycallengecayman2017

“Today’s observance is a wonderful opportunity for us all to consciously promote peace, to take time out of our busy schedules to do a random act of kindness and to reflect on the victims of this active hurricane season,” said the Minister of Health, Environment, Culture & Housing, Dwayne Seymour.

The FRC through its social media challenge hopes to raise public awareness and encourage participation in working together towards creating a society of respect, safety and dignity for all who have gone through tragic experiences

A Minute of silence will also be observed at 12 p.m by the FRC and will be a practical act of quiet reflection, which will honour victims who have lost their lives due to hostility or through natural disasters in the region like Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.
