The Garden Club of Grand Cayman has a busy 2020
Founded in 1957, the aim and purpose of the Garden Club is to promote interest in and knowledge of gardening.
With a theme of “Keep Cayman Clean and Beautiful", the club has monthly meetings (except in July and August) and a variety of events and activities during the year.
The biannual Flower Show, beautification projects such as the native landscaping at The Cayman Islands Tourist Association (CITA), seaside garden at Government House and holiday decorations at Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park are some of the club's projects.
The club is also holding its annual Family Fun day at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park on January 26, from 10am to 3pm.
This fundraising event aims to encourage residents to visit and experience the Park’s offerings while raising funds for and increasing awareness of the Children’s Garden (currently under development).
The Fun Day hosts activities for the whole family including craft making, games, live music and a magic show. Raffle tickets, food, drinks, treats and select plants will also be on sale.
Admission is only $5 for adults while the fee for children 12 and under is only $1.
