Gunmen rob security officers outside Wendy’s in Savannah

Police are searching for two gunmen who robbed two security officers who were collecting money from a restaurant on Tuesday night.  

In a release moments ago, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS)  confirmed that there was a robbery outside of the Wendy’s location in Savannah late Tuesday night.

Reports from the RCIPS, are that the incident took place around 11:30 when two security officers were doing a collection of money from the location.

The two security officers were pounced upon while in their vehicle by two gunmen who had their faces covered.

The men demanded that the security officers hand over the bag containing the money, and also took a black knapsack from one of the officers.

The culprits then fled on foot along Astral Way, toward the Savannah United Church.

No shots were fired in the incident and no one was injured.

The culprits are both described as being about 5’7” tall, of slim build and dark complexion. They wore black shirts and light-coloured pants with cloths covering their faces.
