Hotel occupancy in Caribbean shows decline in 2018

Hotel occupancy in the Caribbean decreased in the first two months of 2018.

Data from STR shows that occupancy through the first two months of 2018 was 70.6 percent, which was a 1.9 percent decrease in comparison with the same two-month period in 2017.

In January, occupancy was 68.1 percent compared to 68.9 percent last year while rates in February 2018 stood at 73.4 percent compared to 75.5 percent last year.

The Average daily rate (ADR) was US$239.77, which was a 0.8 percent decrease using that same year-over-year comparison.
