Instagram down for Thanksgiving

The hashtag #InstagramDown is trending on Twitter.

Many people have been taking to Twitter since Instagram and Facebook are experiencing problems.

Instagram tweeted:

"We’re aware that some people are currently having trouble accessing Facebook’s family of apps, including Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. #InstagramDown"

The tweet has been liked 22,000 times. It also has 7,000 retweets and 3,000 replies.

Persons around the world, especially in the United States, are reporting problems logging in, commenting and posting whether ads, videos or photos.

Today is Thanksgiving in the USA and many persons wanted to share their family photos, pictures of food and clips from the Thanksgiving Day parade.

Instagram posted to Twitter around 11.30 am today.

In the Caribbean even posting to Facebook has been spotty when using third-party platforms like Hootsuite. Uploading to IG TV was a hit or miss as well.

In Texas, one person said the problem seems to have been fixed in the past 10 minutes, around 2.15 pm.

"I can post some things but other
things will not post - “oops there is a problem.” I can’t post anything about the Thanksgiving parade or the Christian heritage of Thanksgiving but I can post other comments- Is this done purposely picking and choosing? Either all my post should have a problem or none of them"

On downdetector.com, persons in San Diego highlighted that they are affected too, while someone else said, "It is working somewhat here in the mountains of Southern California but I cannot load videos right now."
