Investigation launched after unmarked police car crash

Police have launched an investigation after an unmarked police car was involved in a single-vehicle collision on Bodden Road in George Town.

At about 9.30 am today, the unmarked vehicle was travelling westbound along Bodden Road with lights and sirens activated, when it swerved to avoid a collision with a private vehicle and, as a result, hit a utility pole.

No one was injured in the collision and the matter is under investigation.

Bodden Road is currently closed to through traffic and is expected to be reopened later this afternoon.
