Isaac not expected to affect Cayman, residents urged to stay alert
Created : 10 September 2018
At least three storms are in the vicinity of the Caribbean and North America region, and while they at this time pose no threat to Cayman, residents are urged to stay alert.
Hurricane season began on June 1, however data shows that September is the most active month - with many in the region encouraging residents not to drop their guards and to be prepared.
According to the Cayman Islands National Weather Service, rainy conditions are expected to improve across the Cayman area for the week of September 10.
While at the moment the area is experiencing cloudiness and showers associated with the interaction between a tropical wave and an upper level trough, the Cayman area can expect improving conditions as the tropical wave moves west over the Yucatan Peninsula.
The weather service noted that it would continue to monitor all systems.
