A 16-year-old Jamaican boy was reportedly accidentally shot and killed in Portmore, St Catherine on Wednesday.
Reports are that about 3:40 p.m., two 16-year-old boys were at a premises in Independence City playing with a firearm, when the weapon went off, hitting one of the teens, who has been identified as Daniel Wray.
He was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The other teenager who was at the scene of the shooting has been taken into custody.
Police from Portmore have since launched an investigation into the matter.
Sources close to the case have indicated that the gun is owned by a licensed firearm holder.
However, the police are yet to confirm that report.
