Jingle all the way! Registration open for annual Crisis Centre event
Registration is now open for the anticipated annual Cayman Islands Crisis Centre Jingle Bell 5K and 10K Walk/Run on Sunday, December 1.
Last year, 2018, was the event’s largest turnout to date with over 550 participants, and organizers are hopeful they can set a new record this year.
What's even more special is that all money raised will help the CICC's fundraising drive to build a new shelter for local domestic abuse victims and their children, as the current shelter no longer meets the needs and the spike in those seeking shelter.
Michelle Lockwood, CICC Board Member and Chair of the Fundraising Committee revealed: "The Jingle Bell run is our longest running fundraiser, with walkers and runners embracing the festivities that the holiday season brings. We are moved every year by the generosity and support of our sponsors, participants and volunteers as we recognize the power and unity a community can create when moving together."
The much-anticipated event will begin and end at Holiday Inn, Safe Haven and to add to the festivities of the holiday season, a breakfast will follow along with an opportunity to meet Santa.
Raffle prizes will be available for race participants and there will be a special prize for the best decorated tree race shirt.
Registration is now open at www.caymanactive.com/jingle. The cost is CI$25 for pre-registration and CI$30 on the day.
