Man injured after machete attack by masked culprit

A man sustained an injury after answering a knock at his front door and being swung at with a machete.

Shortly before 9pm on Sunday, May 19, officers responded to a report of an assault at an address on Snooze Lane, George Town. A man at the location had responded to a knock on the door.

As the man opened the door, a masked man swung at him with an object suspected to be a machete.

The man immediately closed the door and the culprit fled the scene. The victim sustained a minor injury to his hand. He was taken for treatment and subsequently discharged.

The suspect is described as being about 5’7” tall, with slim build, and of brown complexion. He was wearing a dark hoodie and pants, and had a dark mask over his face.

The incident is currently under police investigation. Anyone who may have seen any suspicious persons or activity in or around Snooze Lane on Sunday night, or who may have any information about this incident, is asked to contact the George Town CID at 949-4222.
