Man knocked unconscious by unknown assailant near Eastern Avenue

A man was found unconscious in a shirt covered in blood by attending Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) officers on Tuesday night on Harper Close off Eastern Avenue.

Reports received by authorities are that a man who was on Harper Close was hit over the head by another man, who had arrived at the location in a vehicle.

It was further reported that the men had been having a conversation briefly before the assault occurred. 

 The assailant fled the scene in the car he had arrived, heading towards the Eastern Avenue, Godfrey Nixon Way junction.

RCIPS officers who arrived on the scene provided preliminary first aid assistance and the victim was later transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was assessed by the duty doctors.

 The man is said to have serious head injuries and is being treated at the hospital.

The police are appealing to the public for anyone with information regarding this incident to come forward with information.
