Mother injured after fighting off burglar in her home

A mother became a have-a-go-hero when she fought off a burglar in her home in the middle of the night and snatched back her handbag.

At about 2.30 this morning (May 1), officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary at an address on Frank Sound Road.

A woman had been at home with her children, when she was alerted to the presence of a man unknown to her. The man had entered the house and was attempting to take a handbag.
