New regulations for supermarket visits to be rolled out from tomorrow

As a result of yesterday's overcrowding at the supermarkets, the Cayman Islands Government has rolled out new regulations surrounding the visit of supermarkets for essential items.

These will be rolled out from tomorrow as follows:

Starting tomorrow, adults with last names beginning between A-K can go to the supermarket to get essential items on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Starting tomorrow, adults with last names beginning between L-Z can go to the supermarket to get essential items on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Recommendations are no children and only one member of the household.

Supermarket opening hours are as follows:

Fosters & Priced Right 6 am- 6 pm with 6 am-7am for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Essential workers' dedicated hour from 5-6 pm.

Hurleys 6 am- 6 pm with 6 am-7 am for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Essential workers' dedicated hour from 5-6 pm.

Kirk Market 6 am- 6 pm with 6 am-7am for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Essential workers' dedicated hour from 5-6 pm.

Cost-U-Less 7 am-6 pm, with 7 am-8 am for the disabled, elderly and pregnant women. Essential workers' dedicated hour from 5-6pm

This applies to all of the islands and all individuals regardless of dedicated hours.

The alphabetic ordering will take a joint effort between the supermarkets and the police.
