One in critical condition and one arrested after Bodden town collision

A three-vehicle crash on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Brightview Drive, Bodden Town resulted in one man in critical condition and another man being placed under arrest for suspected DUI.

Just after 8:30PM on 14 September, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre due to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles.

One man was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be extricated by the Cayman Islands Fire Service. He received serious and possibly life-threatening-injuries and was transported to the hospital by the ambulance where he is currently being treated. 

Another man age 31, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and later bailed as the investigation continues.

Shamrock Road was closed during the night of the incident to preserve the scene for accident reconstruction to take place. The roadway has now been cleared and opened to the public.

The matter is under investigation.
