One more case of COVID-19 in Cayman; 196 in total

The Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, reports 451 COVID-19 tests carried out since Tuesday’s press conference of which one result detected SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease. This individual is asymptomatic and was picked up through screening; contact tracing has started. Cayman has now had 196 confirmed positive cases.

26 of the positive cases are still considered to be active but there are no individuals on island who are symptomatic.

21,733 people have now been tested in the Cayman Islands bringing the positive test rate to 0.9 per cent.
