Police appeal for witnesses after woman robbed by gunman

Two women have been left shaken up after they were pounced on by an armed robber who stole one of their handbags.

Shortly after 9 pm yesterday (September 25), officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery on Shedden Road, just west of the intersection with Liberty Lane.

Two women were outside of a business at the location when they were approached by an unknown man who brandished a handgun and demanded one of the women hand over her handbag. The man then fled on foot via Liberty Lane with the handbag, which contained personal items and a quantity of cash.

The suspect is described as being tall, of light complexion, with brown eyes, and was wearing a black hoodie with the lower half of his face also covered. He is said to have walked with a limp.

The matter is currently under police investigation and anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact George Town CID at 949-4222.
