Police helicopter damaged during aborted takeoff at ORIA

A police helicopter suffered damage following an uncontrolled command failure on a routine deployment.
Just before 4:30pm today, February 26, the police helicopter experienced difficulties while lifting off at ORIA. The sudden aborted takeoff caused the tail of the helicopter to strike the ground, causing damage.
No one on board the helicopter was injured during the incident.
The CIAA was immediately informed of the incident and is currently on site, as well as all relevant emergency services. As a result of this incident, the police helicopter is out of service.
