Port Authority responds to 'food shortage' talk

Joseph Woods, the Acting Port Director has issued a statement in response to rumours that there has been a coronavirus sparked food shortage on the island.

The statement reads as follows:

The Cayman Islands Port Authority wishes to advise the public that a false voice message has been circulating via whatsapp which alleges that the Government is not allowing any containers to come into the island.

The Port Authority would like to reassure the public that there is no cause for concern. The Port Authority discharged Caribe Navigator last night and Tropic Jade is scheduled for the evening of March 6. Caribe Mariner is scheduled for discharge for the evening of March 7, 2020.
