Public warned of Facebook scam impersonating Deputy Premier

Police are investigating a report of a person impersonating Deputy Premier, Moses Kirkconnell and contacting members of the public requesting their personal and banking information.
The contact is being made through Facebook Messenger using a fake Facebook Profile under the name of the Honorable Minister Moses Kirkconnell. The perpetrator has then been requesting that money be paid with the promise of a substantial return and staying that the higher the payment you make the higher your returns will be, starting at $500 payment for a $30,000 return.
The police are warning the public that this is a scam and if you have been contacted via Facebook Messenger by someone saying they are the Hon. Minister Moses Kirkconnell and requesting personal information, do not engage with the person but instead report the matter to the RCIPS Financial Crimes Unit during business hours at 949-8797.
