RCIPS Inspector charged in hit and run to appear in court Jan 2018

A Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) Inspector remains on suspension following a hit and run incident which occurred on Crewe Road earlier this year in June.

The 53-year-old who is a police officer of Inspector rank, is currently out on bail  and is expected  to appear in court in January 8, 2018.   

The Inspector has since been formally charged with dangerous driving, driving whilst impaired, leaving the scene of an accident, and misleading the police.

The incident is said to have occurred when the officer was off duty;  he has been on suspension since  June 13, 2017,  as a result of the incident.
