Twenty-four students started the new academic year with new school bags from the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman.
The service club donated the colourful backpacks with school supplies for distribution by the Department of Children and Family Services’ (DCFS) to deserving students.
The Department of Children and Family Services noted that they were thrilled to receive the backpacks and school supplies from Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise.
“We are extremely grateful for this act of kindness and are certain that the children who receive these essential school supplies will also be thankful and put them to good use,” said Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Social Work Manager Tiffany Myles.
“Rotary Sunrise knows how important having the right kit is,” said one of the club’s Community Services Directors Jenna Mungall.
“We are pleased to gift these backpacks and back-to-school stationery to students and hope that these items will contribute to their academic success,” added Mungall.
