This week, police constables in the Sister Islands have been participating in a four-day training course designed to reinforce their skills in various areas of policing.
The course covered topics such as crime investigation, first response, admissibility of evidence, identification, and statement taking and questioning skills. The officers were also trained in the use of the handheld radar by an officer from the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit.
Four officers from Cayman Brac and two from Little Cayman participated in the training, which they completed yesterday afternoon, 6 February.
“As a police service, it is our responsibility to ensure that our officers maintain their skill levels and proficiency so that they are able to serve their communities effectively,” said Deputy Commissioner Kurt Walton. “This type of training is an important part of that.”
