A student who returned to St Maarten one week ago is the country’s second coronavirus case.

Prime Minister Silveria Jacobs confirmed this during an address to the nation on March 22.

She said the patient went into immediate isolation and there is no chance for local transmission at this time.

There are currently 13 persons who are in self-isolation and are being monitored as having been exposed to persons with COVID-19.
