The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the owner of a boat which washed ashore early Wednesday morning near Bodden Town Beach.

According to police, at around 6 am officers from the Joint Marine Unit (JMU) responded to a report of an empty boat with no engines along Bodden Town beach near Manse Road.

The boat which appears to be from Costa Rica was removed from the beach by marine officers and taken to the Marine Base where enquiries continue.

In publicising the incident, the JMU thank the NRA for its assistance in providing the machinery necessary to remove the boat from the water on short notice.
