Traffic advisories for this weekend

Motorists are asked to be aware and to make the appropriate arrangements with respect to the following traffic advisories for this weekend.

November 1

North Church Street will be closed between Lobster Pot and Burger King in order to facilitate an Emergency Training Exercise. The closure will be in effect for a 30-minute period between 9am and 10am, however the exact time within this window is uncertain.

November 2

Radio Cayman will be hosting the Breeze Fusion 5/10K Walk/Run, beginning at 6am. The event will begin at Smith’s Barcadere and participants will travel north along South Church Street to Cardinall Avenue, then turn around and travel south along South Church Street to Melmac Avenue, travel east on Melmac to Walkers Road, then south on Walkers Road to South Church Street, and return to Smith’s Barcadere via South Church Street. The event is expected to conclude by 9.30am.

November 3

The Cayman Islands Triathlon Association will be hosting the annual Cayman Islands Triathlon, beginning at 6am. The event will begin at the Seven Mile Public Beach, with the run course travelling south along West Bay Road to Lime Tree Bay Avenue, travelling east on Lime Tree Bay to the Esterley Tibbetts Highway, before return returning to Seven Mile Public Beach via the same route. The bike course will travel along Esterley Tibbetts, between Lime Tree Bay Avenue and Batabano Road. The event is expected to conclude by 11am.

In order to facilitate the event, traffic will be restricted on West Bay Road between Lime Tree Bay Avenue and the Seven Mile Beach roundabout, from 6am to 11am.
