New: Tropical Storm Jose forms east of Hurricane Irma
While the Northern Caribbean states are preparing for Category 5, Hurricane Irma, which has been described as “extremely dangerous” another tropical storm, named Jose, has formed.
Jose, which is the tenth tropical storm of the season, formed over the Atlantic; with the National Hurricane Centre (NHC) on Tuesday noting that there were "no coastal watches or warnings in effect" for Jose.
However the NHC did note that, “interests in the Leeward Islands should monitor the future progress of Jose.”
As of a 10:00 AM, tropical storm Jose was located to the east of Hurricane Irma.
In preparation for the storms, particularly the very dangerous Hurricane Irma, several corporate entities, such as, the Ritz Carlton and American Airlines, have taken precautionary measures.
American Airlines has added extra flights out of St. Maarten and St. Kitts and Nevis.
The flights are in addition to regularly scheduled flights Tuesday and Wednesday to Miami.
Both islands are part of the northern Leeward Islands, and are under a hurricane warning as Irma approaches the region.
While the Ritz Carlton in Grand Cayman has also noted it overall readiness, saying on Tuesday morning that it had finalized the implementation of storm preparation protocols.
