Two men who had been previously charged with Possession of Criminal Property after an investigation into the movement of gold through the Cayman Islands have been additionally charged with Engaging in Smuggling in relation to the same investigation.
The two, age 25 and 26 and from Venezuela, are appearing in court on July 31.
The police and Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Service commenced a joint probe into the movement of gold through the Cayman Islands and, as a result of this investigation, a small private plane along with a large quantity of cash was seized.
Four foreign nationals were arrested.
