Update: 28-year-old woman killed in early morning East End crash

The police have now confirmed that a woman was pronounced dead at hospital following a crash in East End early Thursday morning.

In a release moments ago, the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) said a Subaru collided with a tree in in the vicinity of 179 Farm Road in East End.

Both occupants of the vehicle,  a woman and man, were transported to Cayman Islands Hospital where the woman, age 28, was pronounced dead. 

The man remains in the hospital in critical condition.

Anyone with any information about this accident is asked to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit.

While there have been scores of collisions since the start of the year, this is the first fatal collision the island has recorded since the start of 2018.
