Update: Cayman Airways flights to Miami and Havana remain grounded

Several Cayman Airways flight remain cancelled as Miami International Airport (MIA), Tampa International Airports (TPA), and Jose Marti International Airport in Havana remain closed on Monday.

According to the national carrier, as a result flights to these destination remain cancelled; with plans for recovery flights to be announced as soon as the respective airports re open.

As a courtesy to customers the airline has extended its special hurricane fare of US$69 each way between the Cayman Islands and Tampa or Miami  to September 17, 2017.

According to Flight Aware approximately, 12,600 flights have been cancelled through to Tuesday because of the storm -  A number which is set to increase as a weakened Irma heads north near Atlanta.

Flight affected by the cancellation include:

Miami flights KX102 and KX103 and KX106 and KX107

Tampa flights KX200 and KX201

Havana flights KX832 and KX833

Additionally Cayman Airways noted that there is no add-on for travel to/from the Sister Islands with this special fare.

Change fees  have also been waived by Cayman Airways for passengers who wish to change their flight reservations for travel between the Cayman Islands and Miami, Tampa, and Havana.
