Update on Cayman's positive COVID-19 cases

Director of Primary Health Care Dr. Samuel Williams-Rodriguez advised the public of the health status of Cayman's positive COVID-19 cases today.

189 samples have been tested and returned with 180 negative results. This is a 95% negative rate. There have been no positive cases in Cayman Brac. 19 outstanding tests will be returned either tomorrow or Monday. None of the remaining individuals who have been tested are in the hospital.

Calls to the flu hotline have gone down from over a hundred calls a day to just over 70 and there are approximately 10 emails being received per day.

The chart below provides the health status of the positive results that have been received to date.The patient with the inconclusive result has had their results go to CARPHA. They are doing well and are in isolation.

So far there is no evidence of local transmission.
