Update:Customs Officer on bail, 3 others to appear in court

The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service reported that three Venezuelan nationals and a Caymanian Customs officer are to appear in court on Thursday.

According to RCIPS, the three Venezuelan nationals were formally charged on June 7.

The men ages 51, 32 and 22 were jointly charged with knowingly being concerned with the importation of a controlled drug, namely 1.814kg of cocaine.

The 31-year-old man of Bodden Town, who is a Cayman Islands Customs Officer, is currently on Police Bail.

Five individuals were arrested  on Friday during a joint operation by the Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force (DSCTF) and Customs Enforcement.

The operation was conducted at an apartment complex in George Town.
