US Tourist dies while snorkeling off Seven Mile Beach

A visitor from the United States died on Monday after experiencing difficulties while snorkeling off Seven Mile Public Beach.
Reports from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) are that at around 12:15pm on Monday, police and emergency personnel responded to a report of a man who had experienced difficulties while snorkeling.
He was brought to shore by members of the public nearby who began to administer CPR.
Emergency personnel arrived and continued CPR.
The 72-year-old man was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
This is the first snorkeling death of 2018, however, in 2017 four tourist died following snorkeling incidents.
