Watch: Helicopter crashes during search for prison escapees

A helicopter involved in the search for escaped prisoners from the Prisons at the Golden Grove, Trinidad has crashed.

The crash took place in Windy Hill, Arouca, around 1 pm on Wednesday.

The National Security Ministry said the aircraft, which is owned by the National Helicopter Services Limited, experienced technical difficulties and made a hard landing. 

The Ministry has confirmed that there were no fatalities and no serious injuries to those on board the helicopter.

The manhunt for the escapees continues under the supervision and leadership of the Trinidad and Tobago Prison Service and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.

The Ministry said it looks forward to the successful recapture of the escaped prisoners.
